The Department of Bioanalytical Science, established in June 2006, is a state-of-the-art facility supported by highly qualified in-house faculty with 13–22 years of teaching experience, along with visiting faculty from industry, research organizations, and alumni.

The department is well equipped with basic laboratory instruments such as pH meters, water baths, incubators, centrifuges, hot air ovens, vortex mixers, rotary shakers, and distillation units. Advanced instrumentation includes HPLC, GC, HPTLC, UV–Visible Spectrophotometer, FTIR, electrophoretic apparatus, dissolution apparatus, friability and hardness testers, microscopes, and UV transilluminator. Comprehensive hands-on training ensures strong integration of theory with practical learning.

The ICT-enabled classroom accommodates 50 students and supports presentations through animations, videos, simulations, and PowerPoint. The department actively conducts field visits, industrial training, and research projects, resulting in many paper publications by students.

With a strong 90% placement record, alumni regularly update industry vacancies. Students also engage in extracurricular activities like “Paradigm,” the departmental fest, and co-curricular initiatives such as workshops, certificate courses, seminars, conferences, and mentoring programs, fostering holistic development.

The department also believes in inculcating humanitarian values by means of extension activities like the beach cleaning drive, roti bank, creating awareness of various issues to underprivileged children.
