Guru Nanak Institute of Research and Development (GNIRD)
The Guru Nanak Institute of Research and Development (GNIRD) at G. N. Khalsa College has emerged as a significant center for scientific research since its inception in 2005. Founded under the guidance of Dr. R. T. Sane, GNIRD focuses on interdisciplinary research, combining the college’s academic legacy with modern scientific advancements.
GNIRD is a recognized Ph.D. centre in Bioanalytical Science and Analytical Chemistry, with over 60 Ph.D. graduates and 12+ university-registered guides available to mentor students. It boasts state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with advanced instruments like HPLC, GC, HPTLC, and UV-visible spectrophotometers, offering hands-on training to master’s students through its on-job training program. This initiative prepares students for professional careers in analytical sciences.
Annually, GNIRD organizes “SRIJNA” – a National Level Poster Presentation Competition, encouraging creativity and innovation among students, teachers, and researchers. It also conducts workshops on Chromatography & Spectroscopy Techniques, where participants gain in-depth knowledge from industry experts and receive certificates upon completion. Students involved in these workshops earn academic credit points for their participation.
GNIRD further offers outsourcing services for sample analysis, with capabilities in various specialized analytical methods.
