About Manasrang Initiative:

Manasrang Club is an initiative of Parivartan Santha and Maharashtra State Faculty Development Academy (MSFDA), Pune. This is a pilot project implemented in 36 districts of Maharashtra wherein one college from each district is selected. Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous) is the one of the colleges and the only college from Mumbai district to be selected for this project. The primary objective of Manasrang Club’s formation is to sensitize students and faculties towards the importance of mental health and to provide platform for students to voice the issues pertaining to mental health. This club attempts to make psychological first-aid accessible to students in the form of Manasmitra.

These Mansmitra (student volunteers) register themselves to be the members of Manasrang Club. Manasmitra are from multiple classrooms and faculties, so college students can easily connect with them for any assistance. As communication can nudge people in right direction, these Mansmitra can act as a gatekeeper and restrict the entry of negative thoughts in students. Parivartan Sanstha and MSFDA intend to equip the lead-colleges to act as a catalyst for the upcoming initiatives under this banner.
