The Marathi department has been functioning since the establishment of Khalsa College in 1937.  The department is characterized by various literary programs, initiatives that foster social awareness and a sense of responsibility, and continuous efforts for the all-round development of students. The department offers undergraduate-level courses. Accordingly, films and plays relevant to the curriculum are shown. Students have access to the departmental library. Recognizing the need for modernization, the department has adopted e-notes and online practice tests. Interviews are organized with renowned authors, screenwriters, and prominent personalities from the arts field. Similarly, various academic and extracurricular competitions are organized for students. The Marathi department has consistently delivered excellent results. High-quality, knowledgeable, and student-friendly teachers are an asset to the department.
