About the Department

The Department of Physics, established in 1937, has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence.
We offer comprehensive, government aided undergraduate, postgraduate, honors and PhD programs. All these programs are designed to build strong foundations in classical and modern Physics, including mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, thermodynamics, and astrophysics. The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect the latest advancements in science and technology.
Our faculty comprises experienced educators and active researchers dedicated to mentoring students. We encourage our students to engage in research projects, seminars, and workshops that sharpen their analytical and problem-solving skills. As a result, many of our alumni advance to postgraduate and doctoral programs at prestigious national and international research institutions.
The department is equipped with well-maintained laboratories that support experimental learning and innovation. We also promote interdisciplinary collaboration and industry interaction to prepare students for careers in academia, research institutions, and technology-driven industries.
