In compliance with the Instructions of National Commission for Women and guidelines issued in implementation of the directives of Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgement dated 13th August1997 in the case of Visakha and others vs. State of Rajasthan and others on the subject of sexual harassment of women in the workplace, GURU NANAK KHALSA COLLEGE had duly constituted a complaint committee for considering complains of sexual harassment of students/ Women working in the college.
Strategies
IQAC evolves mechanisms and procedures for:
- Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks
- The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes
- Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society
- Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning
- The credibility of evaluation procedures
- Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services
- Research sharing and networking with other institutions in India and abroad
Functions
Some of the functions of the IQAC are:
- Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
- Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
- Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education
- Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement
- Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices
- Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining/enhancing the institutional quality
- Development of Quality Culture in the institution
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC

Activities
Activity 1
IQAC along with Attribute 6 (Extended Curricular Engagements) organized a Cyber Crime and Security Awareness Program for the students on 19/ 09/25.
PSI Pravin Patil, Cyber Cell Officer Matunga Police station delivered an informative session covering:
- How WhatsApp accounts are hacked through OTP and fraud links.
- Bank-related frauds and phishing activities.
- Morphing of photos and sextortion cases.
- Fake calls pretending to be from police or packaging agencies.
- Digital arrest scams where fraudsters extort money.
- Deepfake videos and AI-based fraud calls using voices of relatives or friends.
- Remedies such as filing complaints on cybercrime.gov.in or calling the toll-free number 1930.
The students learned, on how fraudsters operate through calls, links and social media, simple preventive measures to protect themselves from such crimes, official ways to report incidents through government portals and helplines.
This programme helped students understand the importance of cyber safety and prepared them to deal with real-life cyber threats more responsibly.
Activity 2
IQAC along with Health, Wellness and Hygiene committee organized a Bookmark Making Competition on 27-09-2025.
The objective of the program was
- To make students aware of the importance of healthy food choices and the need to balance digital use in daily life.
- To provide a platform where students can express ideas through art, colour, and words.
- To encourage reflection on lifestyle habits, helping them differentiate between positive and harmful practices.
By this program the students gained a clearer understanding of the benefits of healthy eating and reduced screen time. Also, students learned to translate abstract concepts (like health, balance, mindfulness) into visuals and messages. They got the exposure to a variety of ideas and interpretations through each other’s bookmarks.
